Welcome to Hudson House.
Our newest addition, Hudson is a four unit home in historic Allentown. Most include off street parking. There is a shared front porch that allows you to integrate into this diverse, urban community. Laundry is in the basement and is shared by all four units. Each tenant gets their own locked storage unit in the attic, so bikes or other valuables can be safely secured in here.
We want our tenants to feel safe and secure; there are cameras on the premise. All doors are kept locked at all times.
In the summer, you will notice that Hudson has a xeriscaped front lawn. We simply maintain the weeds and plant new bulbs and plants each year. We find this is an environmental solution to grass and we really like how it looks.
We hope you will enjoy Hudson’s charm as much as we do!
Allentown.
Hudson is in Allentown, which, if you are not familiar with Buffalo, is a lively night-life district. It is home to such bars as Hardware, Nietzsche’s and The Pink. Hudson is walkable to Pausa, a lovely place to hear jazz or all sorts of live music. You can also walk to Kleinhans and hear JoAnn Falletta conduct The Buffalo Philharmonic or listen to a lecture at the popular Babel writing series. Hudson House is a quiet refuge in a bustling area.

Each of Hudson’s apartment is different, but one of the apartments features a rain shower and towel warmer for those cold Buffalo winters.

PREGNANT IN A FOREST I'm 37 weeks pregnant and up at Story Road. Chris, our contractor, and another guy are working on the house today (and it is really looking like a house!). They are working on the trusses: those big triangles that shape the roof. Vincent and I...
Wintering
WINTERING I am writing to you on January 4th. I'm 22 weeks pregnant and sick with bronchitis, which I got from a recent trip to France. I can't really complain. Anyone who ends a sentence about getting sick with "a recent trip to France" can't complain, even though I...
How to Build a House
PLANS It's a rainy day here in Buffalo. The temperature is in the fifties. It's the first day of October. The trees yawn in their morning slumber. My cat meows softly in the background, as he cuddles into a warm blanket that I have on my bookshelf. I have a pot of...
